Hi lovely crafty friends, today I have some of the best techniques to have in your “Crafting Tool Box”. Let’s cover Masking, Hiding and Blocking, pun intended.

These techniques are some most useful ones that you can use over and over again. Including one that sounds pretty scary but it’s totally worth it:-)

All techniques and ideas are shown in the video tutorial. Make sure to watch it to get all the best tips and tricks.

These background as are done with the blocking technique, it’s super simple but a great way to work with sprays in sort of sections. Because I worked with sprays I was able to make a two backgrounds for one, which is always super cool. To turn it into a card I used the Tim Holtz – Thinlits Bold Text ( SBC | JGG | SSS ).

I made the slimline size cards and for the one below I tape three of the sentiments together to make it one BIG BOLD sentiment/sentence.

Cut the same out of black card and added it off-set to the back to create a shadow. This is a pretty easy and fast way to create some interest on a simple card.

For this background I used torn masking tape with three colours Distress Oxide Inks ( SBC | SSS | JGG ).

The ink was applied with the Rainbow finger BLENDER BRUSHES ( SSS ) which work really well for smaller areas and adding details. The not perfectly even and blended colours add some interest to the background as well. If you prefer the perfectly blended option that’s very easy to do with the brushes also.

In the video, you can see some simple masking techniques with a DIY mask. To show the technique I used the CHERRY BLOSSOM Grunge Clear Stamp ( SSS | JGG | ECS )

There are more stamps and also stencils in this same Studio Light Grunge Line ( SSS | JGG | ECS ). Including a gorgeous butterfly stamp which was already sold out at the time, I made this video. Maybe you have more luck:-) The different links will take you to all products available.

Last but not least the ripped stencil technique with one of the new Art By Marlene Essential Masks LOVELY MANDALA ( SSS | JGG | ECS )

You can find all Marlene’s new essentials through the following links ART By Marlene Essentials ( SSS | JGG | ECS )

I hope you are inspired to try out these techniques on your craft projects. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
