Hi lovely crafty friends, today I have one of my favorite sort of dies, the Sizzix Bigz. They can cut lots of different materials, chipboard among them which is perfect as I love texture, saves a lot of time gluing layers together. Here I used the Tim Holtz Die Planks ( SBC | CST | CST ) a favorite among the favorites and I show how you can use it in 5 different ways with 7 card ideas.

I have had the Tim Holtz Die Planks ( SBC | CST | CST ) for quite a while and I used it on a bunch more cards.  Here is one of the more recent projects I made, if you haven’t seen the Easy Texture & Dimension video yet, make sure to check it out, you can find it here. In today’s video I have 5 new ways to use the planks with some variations. Be sure to watch the video to see all techniques at work.

For these cards I used Nuvo Aqua flow pens to colour the cards and I used the small and big Planks ( SBC | CST | CST ) I used them in the background on both cards.

On this card I coloured the planks cut out of Craft Perfect – Watercolour Card ( TNCUK | TNC ) with Clear water from the Aqua Flow Ocean Air ( SBC | CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC ) Aqua Splash from Aqua Flow – Summer Holiday ( SBC | CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC ) and Fresh Green from Aqua Flow – Spring Meadow ( SBC | CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC )





I cut the Tim Holtz Wildflower Stems 2 ( SBC | CST | CRF ) out of Craft Perfect Glitter Card Silver Screen ( CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) which makes a gorgeous focal point.



On this colourful card I used all Aqua Flow Surprise Party  ( SBC | CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) colours to colour the planks. I cut the planks out of Craft Perfect – Watercolour Card ( TNCUK | TNC ) and sprayed some water using the Tim Holtz – Distress Sprayer ( SBC | JGG | BLT ) to let the colour flow and move to get a pretty blend.

For the next technique I used expanding mousse, which adds pretty texture to the planks. I like texture on my projects to create some interest and the mousse makes it super easy. I used  Nuvo – Expanding Mousse – Bramley Apple ( SBC | CRF | CST | TNC | TNCUK ) and applied it with Nuvo – Media Spatula ( SBC | TNCUK | TNC ) a great tool for work like this.

I added the expanding mousse on Ultra Smooth Card ( CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC ) but you can also use Craft Perfect – Watercolour Card ( TNCUK | TNC ) which has a bit more “bite” and makes it even easier to apply. I used Tim Holtz Shadow Script 2 ( SBC | CST ) for the sentiment and coloured white card.

For this card I cut the planks out of ultra smooth card again and embossed them with the Tim Holtz Embossing Folder – Lumber ( SBC | CST )

 I coloured the planks with Nuvo – Embellishment Mousse – Spring Green ( SBC | CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) & Aquamarine ( SBC | CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC ) this will make the texture added with the embossing folder pop even more.

For the next technique I made weave patterns, just another fun look to get with the fun planks.

For this card I combine the texture from the embossing folder and a weave pattern, I coloured the planks with Nuvo Aqua flow pens again with Clear water from the Aqua Flow Ocean Air ( SBC | CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC ) Aqua Splash from Aqua Flow – Summer Holiday ( SBC | CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC ) and I added another 

On this card I coloured the planks with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain ( SBC | CRF | CST ). I cut Tim Holtz Small Tattered Florals ( SBC | CRF | CST ) and coloured the edges with Distress Oxides Ink Tattered Rose ( SBC | CST | CRF ) &  Bundled Sage ( SBC | CRF | CST )

For the background I used Distress Oxides Spray – Picked Raspberry ( SBC | CRF | CST ) & Spiced Marmalade ( SBC | CST | CRF ) on ultra-smooth card and some Jewel Drops – Rose Water ( SBC | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) for the hearts.

And the last one is the simplest, I cut the planks out of Craft Perfect Glitter Card Silver Screen ( CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) and even though it’s super basic it has gorgeous look from the texture of the glitter combined with a colourful sentiment from the Tim Holtz Shadow Script 2 set ( SBC | CST ).
