Hi I’m Gerry van der Velden, papercraft artist in heart and soul. I live in the Netherlands with my husband and our 2 papillons, Mika & B-Bee.
I love all things papercraft from scrapbooking and cardmaking to mixed media projects and art journaling.
I teach papercrafters new techniques and skills. Do you want to learn how you can get the most out of your craft products to make them as versatile as possible? I will take you by the hand and show you fun ways to use your stash.
I help you to think outside the box with free video tutorials, where I show you how you can make great projects too and try out all things you learn on your own projects.
Buying new supplies is fun but using them even more. Don’t just collect crafty items but use your stash to make gorgeous projects.
I help you to get the most out of your craft products by handing you fun, easy and new techniques.
I will help you to try new things and step outside your comfort zone. You will love thinking and creating outside the box.
Enjoy the process of creating beautiful papercraft projects to surprise someone with or to keep for yourself.
Papercrafting is fun and a great way to relax and get away from all daily things for a while in the comfort of your own home.
I have been crafting as long as I can remember, there were always all kinds of things to craft with lying around for me and my sister.
I’ve tried lots of different crafts from knitting and embroidery to cardmaking and building chipboard boxes. About 2003 I discovered scrapbooking and started to develop my skills in working with pictures.
From 2011 until 2017 I have been working for KippersHobby a Dutch craft products wholesaler to make designs to display at craft shows and in the showroom, showcasing top brand craft products. For them I made lots of different projects, from cards to layouts, mini albums and altered projects.
My cards, layouts and mini albums have been published in various Dutch and English Craft magazines. I was featured in Creatief met Kaarten, Cards & Scrap and Simply Cards & Papercraft to name a few. This is so super cool to see your own designs in a printed version.
In 2015 I have worked on an ink special, another project I loved doing, getting to know the ins and outs of different inks and see it transformed into a magazine.
I also have been teaching different live classes in Dutch Craft Stores with my own designs, from mini albums to big scrapbook projects.
In 2016 I started my YouTube Channel just for fun and in 2018 I started to work on it more seriously, interacting with my audience is so much fun and works as an idea boost in lots of ways.
In 2018 I started making projects with the Tonic Studios Craft Kit to show kit buyers and subscribers ideas on how to use their monthly kit and get the most out of it, all with multiple video tutorials.
In 2019 I created my first online class “Stamping Without Stamps” which takes you on a journey to discover mark making tools you can use on your projects and this was so cool to do and I got some great responses.
I’ve loved Rubber Dance Stamps for a long time and in 2019 I joined their design team and I love making projects with the stamps and try different techniques and think of ways to stretch the stamps by using them in unusual ways
In 2019 I also teamed up with CraftEmotions a wholesale company in the Netherlands with a broad collection of amazing craft products that I love to work with.
Also in 2019 the year of new things, I have done demo’s at a few different Craft Shows in Belgium and in the Netherlands. Where I was asked to show the audience how they can use different Nuvo Products and that was lots of fun. I have met lots of nice crafty people and even some of my subscribers on my YouTube Channel.
And of course I don’t do this all by myself, I have a great Crafty SideKick in my B-Bee. She follows me around like my shadow and is always ready to help me out or if I am in need of a hug, she’s really good at that too:-)
This has been my journey so far and I love it to the fullest, it’s been an amazing experience! I hope you like visiting my website, I’d love to hear from you and have you join me here.
