Hi lovely crafty friends, embossing folders are quite irresistible. The instant texture makes a background look fantastic in a jiffy without effort.

But there is so much more to them than only using those folders as textured sandwiches. Today I have a super cool technique for you!

All techniques and ideas are shown in the video tutorial. Make sure to watch it to get all the best tips and tricks.

If you are a bit of an embossing addict or you have loads of embossing folders in your stash, make sure to check out this Super Cool Embossing Technique as well.

Embossing folders are among my favourite craft supplies. They are just amazing and you can do so much more than just make textured paper. Coming up with as many ways as possible to use them is another favourite of mine, to make them even more versatile.

I have quite a few in my stash and here you can check out my Favourite Embossing Folders

In the video, I talk about crappy foam:-) By that I mean the cheap not too dense foam that can often be found in the children’s craft supplies section. And I know that many of us have it right in their stash as well:-)

Once you have a pile of textured foam you can try different ways to use it. By using foam you can stretch that embossing folder stash even more. Use them with ink like in the backgrounds above or try it with paint as I did for the next backgrounds.

Using the DIY “foam printing plates” on a gel plate gives you even more options. You can make gorgeous clean backgrounds or create a simple divine grungy effect. You are going to have a field-day with this technique:-)

To make some pretty shiny prints I used Amsterdam Acrylic Paint ( JGG ) which comes in small tubes in a huge colour range. I used the matt drying Brilliant Blue combined with metallic colours Copper and Gold.

Using the same colour in different layers will give you a perfect card base or just use it as is. Simply add a sentiment and top it off with a few small embellishments to finish your project.

I hope I have sparked your imagination and that you are ready to have a go with your embossing folders. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
