Hi lovely crafty friends, today I have more cards with the Tim Holtz Masquerade die but this time they have a more romantic style. I used the same big mask as this is my favorite. And I used a bunch of techniques on the cards to get different looks.
In this video I am going to show you different techniques to decorate the masks and turn them into cards using an elegant colour scheme, so be sure to watch today’s video to see all techniques in action.
I have used the Tim Holtz Masquerade die ( SBC | CRF | CST ) on both cards and this die set is as versatile as you make it. There are lots of things you can do with it as you can see in a previous video were I made halloween cards. If you haven’t seen the Halloween version of the Masquerade dies video yet, make sure to check it out.
I used I piece of corrugated cardboard to add behind the mask that I coloured with Nuvo – Glacier Paste – Quicksilver ( SBC | CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC )
I added some seed beads and white thread for texture, these are very affordable and easy ways to add some dimension to a project.
I used the Distress Oxides Ink Pads – Shaded Lilac ( SBC | CST | CRF | JGG ) and Black Soot ( SBC | CRF | JGG ) to colour the embossed background and make the pattern strand out more.
On this card I used the Tim Holtz – 3D Embossing Folder – Crackle ( SBC | CRF | CST ) to emboss the mask and the Tim Holtz 3D Embossing Folder – Lumber ( SBC | CST ) for the embossed background.
I pre-made Nuvo – Glitter Drops – Golden Sunset ( SBC | CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) and added them in a line on the card, this way they can be right next to each other.
I cut the Tim Holtz Detailed Butterflies ( SBC ) out of Craft Perfect Glitter Card Welsh Gold ( CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) to extend the mask and to add more dimension and some sparkle of course.
On both the mask and the background I used Nuvo – Expanding Mousse – Tuscan Gold ( SBC | CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) to highlight the pattern of the embossed parts even more.
I hope you are inspired and want to start creating right away. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
