double foiling two for one technique

Hi lovely crafty friends, I have another fun foiling technique. The shiny foil has so many wonderful ways and options to use on your projects.

Today the focus is on double foiling and two-in-one backgrounds, so double the fun again!

All techniques and ideas are shown in the video tutorial. Make sure to watch it to get all the best tips and tricks.

If you haven’t seen the Ways To Use Foil Scraps video yet, make sure to check it out. For more fun ways to use up your leftover foil scraps.

(All supplies are linked to different stores at the end of this post in the thumbnails. The different stores are also linked behind the product name. Among them are affiliate links that may be used at no cost to you.)

The first pages are from my Joggles Smooth & Sturdy White Disc Bound Journal – 6″ x 6″ ( JGG ) I like to use techniques I want to keep or remember in my Art Journal and create a technique journal which is great for testing and trying as well as future reference.

This is the first page made with an Elizabeth St Hilaire Mask – Nouveau ( JGG ) and Transfer Gel – DUO ( SBC | JGG | SSS | THR ). This is a paste that let you add foil without needing a fancy tool.

To see more ideas with Elizabeths’ stencils and mask check out the post and video on How To Use Big Patterns For Smal Designs.

To add the foil I added a layer of the Transfer Gel – DUO ( SBC | JGG | SSS | THR ) and allow that to dry. It takes a few hours depending on the temperature and humidity.

Here I used a few colours before adding a bigger piece to get that grungy look.

On a piece of cardstock, I made a second design with Joggles / Keren Tamir Stencil – Triangle Grid ( JGG ). This bigger stencil gives you the opportunity to make bigger designs in one take.

The leftover foil piece is added to a second card this will give you the positive and negative of the stencil pattern.

With another layer on top, you can turn this in a pretty double-layered foil background.

And there you go a fun double foiling technique and when you are clever with cutting the big panels into pieces you can get even more than double the cards out of it:-)

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
