Hi lovely crafty friends, today I want to share one of my favourite things to do in crafting, playing with patterned paper. The colours are already there so no need to get messy and you can layer your heart out, so to speak:-)
This time I did my take on window envelopes and adding a little twist to make them even more fun.
I’ll be showing you how you can simply make regular envelopes into something super pretty by just adding a window. All techniques and ideas are shown in the video tutorial. Make sure to watch it to get all the best tips and tricks.
(All supplies are linked to different stores at the end of this post in the thumbnails. The different stores are also linked behind the product name. Among them are affiliate links that may be used at no cost to you.)
For the envelopes, I used the sturdy Joggles white Envelopes ( JGG ). These envelopes hold up great with mixed media techniques, they are nice and sturdy, making them an excellent cover to send your handmade cards.
I gave them a little dip in Cosmic Shimmer – Botanical Stain – Tea Leaves ( SBC | JGG ) to add a hint of colour. this will make them look a bit stained and weathered for a vintage feel. Once they had their colour bath and are dry again, they make an amazing crunchy sound which is totally awesome:-)
The papers are from Jenine’s Mindful Art Collection New Awakenings. The patterned papers in the different pads have so many options, and the Mixed Paper Pad ( JGG ) I used, has vellum sheets with quotes that I used in the window.
There are also lots of elements to fussy cut, but if that’s not your thing you can go for the Die Cut Block ( JGG ) as well.
The complete line has a bit of a vintage feel and there are so many options that it’s definitely worthwhile checking into. From the somewhat darker colours to bright colours like on this soft yellow paper. I really enjoyed putting these envelopes together.
Are you inspired to prettify your envelopes? Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
