Hi lovely crafty friends, today I have Halloween cards to show you. I used the Tim Holtz Masquerade die and I immediately thought
this was a super cool die but I had no ideas or
plan with it. Usually I only buy dies when I have a plan:-) Now I have loads of
plans so you will see more of this die.

If you haven’t seen my first video Distress Oxide Spray Techniques without spraying make sure to check that out. I am going to make some easy backgrounds with Distress Oxide Sprays and I have some tips on how to use the sprays. So be sure to watch the video for all info.

I am going to make backgrounds with Distress Oxide sprays. Since my first video on the sprays

I have learned that they are safer than bacon and wine, the potentially dangerous part titanium dioxide
is in almost every white or pastel coloured paint. So with that being said I have a few things you can do to make the spray and other sprays go where it needs to go, on a card or other craft project.

Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz - Splat BoxStampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz - Splat Box

Tim Holtz has a Splat Box ( SBC ) that you can fold flat to store. This is a great “tool” to have when working with sprays. I have made my own box and because of the back and sides this will catch most of the spray mist.

For this card I used the two colours Distress oxide spray and I coloured the mask with just one colour. By using the Tim Holtz – Distress Sprayer ( SBC | JGG | BLT ) with water you can create fun texture and chalky effect when the ink oxidizes. And you can blend the colour by letting it go from dark to light which is real easy to do.

For this background I used two Distress Oxides Sprays – Wilted Violet ( SBC | CST | CRF ) and Walnut Stain ( SBC | CST | CRF ) I used Craft Perfect Ultra Smooth Card ( CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) for all my cards and for the masks.

I added silver wire to the mask and some Stickles Glitter Glue – Cosmic ( SBC ) this all adds to the dimension and interest on the card.

This background was made with just one colour Distress Oxides Spray – Walnut Stain ( SBC | CST | CRF )

Here I added a pattern on the background with a Tim Holtz – Layering Stencil – Mini Set 30 ( SBC ) and just a little Distress Oxide Ink – Black Soot ( SBC | CRF ) to keep the chalky effect.

I used Stickles Glitter Glue – Mermaid Tail ( SBC ) and Cayman ( SBC ) to add some sparkle and depth to the eye openings. I store the stickles upside down in the Scrapbook.com – The ColorCase ( SBC ) so the stickles are right at the tip and ready to use.

On this card I used a combination of Distress Oxides Spray – Spiced Marmalade ( SBC | CST | CRF ) and Iced Spruce ( SBC | CST | CRF )

Lots of texture going on on this card and I added some black thread as a fun detail to add to the spooky theme.

I used Tim Holtz – Layering Stencil – Mini Set 28 ( SBC ) to add a pattern in the background with Distress Oxide Ink – Black Soot ( SBC | CRF )

And for this softer looking card I used Distress Oxides Spray – Victorian Velvet ( SBC | CRF | CSTand Pumice Stone ( SBC | CST | CRF )

The oxide spray gives such a cool effect I really like it and it’s fast too. And the different colours you get with one colour oxide spray is so pretty.

I added a pattern on the mask with a Tim Holtz – Layering Stencil – Mini Set 30 ( SBC

and Distress Oxide Ink – Iced Spruce ( SBC | CST | CRF | JGG ) it’s fun to give the same mask different looks.

I hope this post inspired you, thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
