metallic gelli prints

Hi lovely crafty friends, I hope you are holding up during this crisis, I have been doing things a bit at a slower pace to take care of me, I hope you are able to do the same.

Today I have some fun and relaxed crafting to share with metallic Gel Prints. Monoprinting is fun and relaxed and you always get the most beautiful how did you do that effects.

(All supplies are linked to different stores at the end of this post in the thumbnails. The different stores are also linked behind the product name. Among them are affiliate links that may be used at no cost to you.)

With the pretty Arteza Metallic Acrylic Artist Paint ( ART | ARTZ  ) it’s easy to get shiny metallic colourful mono prints and beautiful results.

You’ll see some easy and cool techniques in this video that are also doable for beginner crafters. Just some relaxed crafting in this strange time for all of us. So be sure to watch today’s video to see all techniques in action.

Metallic gel printing

If you like gel printing or if you like this idea make sure to pin and share so more people can do some easy and relaxed crafting.

Here are a few cards made with the prints and I kept them real simple because I think they don’t need much this way the background with the lovely texture shows better.

To add to the metallic shine I used Idea-ology – Tim Holtz Kraft Stock – Metallic – 2 ( SBC ) and Idea-ology – Tim Holtz Kraft Stock – Metallic ( SBC )

Here are two more cards made with the gel prints. I used the Metallic Kraft Stock with We R Memory Keepers – Designer Dies – Amy Tangerine ( SBC ) for some cards and Sizzix Chunky Alphabet Bigz XL Die ( SBC | SZZ ) for a bunch of other cards.

grungy gel prints

On these a bit more grungy gel prints the same dies were used for the sentiments.

And these are great simple sentiments that can be send in this time as a little surprise to someone who needs a bit of uplifting.

For the gel prints I used Ranger Ink – Gel Plate – 3 Pack Assortment – Printing Plates( SBC ) that I store in Ranger Ink – Gel Plate Storage Tin( SBC ) which holds all three plates.

One of the tools used is the Ranger Ink – Gel Plate – Brayer – Small ( SBC ) and this is simple but great tool that works real easy. If you want to find out more about my favourite tools then check out this video.

All prints were made on Neenah Solar White Cardstock ( SBC | ELH ) which is a great cardstock to use with lots of techniques.

The mark making tools used to create the fun textures are thread and different stencils Joggles / Mask – Mother’s Garden( JGG ) Joggles / Mask – Droplets ( JGG ) and the one shown in the picture Carabelle Studio Art Mask – Floral Stained Glass – ( JGG )

I also used an empty tape roll which is one of the tools I use in my Stamping Without Stamps class. In the class you learn about some super cool mark making tools that you already have right at home and other “tools” that are out there for grabs for you, so you can start right away. You can learn more about this fun and relaxed class here.

For a bunch of other cards the same metallic Kraft Stock was used but with an embossing folder this time.

The We R Memory Keepers – Revolution – Jen Hadfield – Embossing Folder ( SBC ) is a set of two and one had words and sentences that you can cut apart or use as a whole.
I embossed and cut them into strips to add to the cards.

If you want to see how I used the other embossing folder then check out this video.

For some backgrounds I cut cards to size and made prints and for there were also a few bigger sheets to make layered prints with both gel prints as well as brayer cleaning backgrounds and both combined to get this wonderful texture.

The bigger pieces can be cut to size for cards and you can also use them as a whole for an art journal page or mixed media project to name a few ideas.

I hope you liked these shiny metallic prints and want to hop into your craft space right away to get some me time. Gel printing is also fun to do with your kids or family as we need some extra activities while we are staying safe and at home.

Thanks so much for stopping by, stay safe and make sure to keep on crafting!
