Hi lovely crafty friends, last week we made some super fast textured backgrounds and I turned a few of those backgrounds into cards and an Art Journal Page.

Today I’m going to use up the rest and turn them into super cool layered Mixed Media cards. You can dive into your stash and use up some of those supplies that have been collecting dust:-)

All techniques and ideas are shown in the video tutorial. Make sure to watch it to get all the best tips and tricks.

If you haven’t seen the Super Fast Textured Backgrounds video yet, make sure to check it out. To see what works and what doesn’t and get the best hacks.

(All supplies are linked to different stores at the end of this post in the thumbnails. The different stores are also linked behind the product name. Among them are affiliate links that may be used at no cost to you.)

Seed beads, micro beads, thread and old buttons are great fillers to add some extra dimension and interest.

On all cards I used Tim Holtz 3d Embossing folders ( SBC | SSS ). I love embossing folders they are fantastic to add some effortless instant dimension.

Combined with Metallic Tim Holtz Kraft Stock ( SBC | SSS | JGG ), another favourite of mine you get some pretty shine. Add a little or a lot, it’s totally up to you.

I always like to sand the Kraft Stock to give it a bit of that cool grunge look.

You can make the cards and add a sentiment or customize it later when you know who to send them to. I added a printed sentiment for my uncle, who’s celebrating his 90th birthday next week.

There you go, you see that there is nothing to be afraid of when it comes to mixed Media. You can keep it simple or layer away and go completely over the top, whatever you fancy.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
