Valentine’s Day is so obvious with hearts but I think hearts can be used all year around. Love is all you need right:-) I mixed and matched with some cards and used the die also in some less obvious ways. So come take a peek to find out the details.

5 Ways To Use One Die

Cover Plate Ideas
I have used the Cover plate in different ways, using the complete plate and using up the scraps left over from the various cards.
I also used just parts of the die in different ways to give you lots of options with the Studio Katia Scallop Hearts Cover Die ( STD )
Use Your Scraps
For the first card I mixed the hearts from two other cards and added them in the middle of the open spaces.
The light hearts are on foam tape to get some fun dimension. I added the outline hearts around the printed sentiment, they make fun embellishments.
I added some Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals ( STD ) using the Studio Katia Embellishment Wand ( STD ) which makes it super easy to pick up the crystals.
I used Ranger Ink – Glossy Accents – Clear Dimensional Embellishment – 2 ounces ( SBC | JGG ) as a glue, it works as a really strong glue so the crystals don’t come off when you send it through snail mail.
Add Some Sparkle
For the second card the hearts are added at the bottom of the open shape, the light ones again on foam tape for dimension.
Here I also added the Sparkling Crystals ( STD ) which reflect the colour of the card so depending on the colour you use, they will always be a perfect fit.
For the third card I added the hearts from the previous cards all on foam tape and on the side of the open heart spaces. I used the light outline hearts around the darkest hearts as fun detail.
Here I used the Tim Holtz – Christmas Circle Words ( SBC | SZZ ) in two layers with Ranger Ink – Embossing Powder – Blush Pearl ( SBC )
Then I finished with another word I cut out of Scrapbook.com – Cardstock – Neenah Solar White ( SBC ) on top to make the word stand out more.

On this card I added the Studio Katia Cupid’s Kiss Crystals ( STD ) that come in different colours pink from real soft clear to opaque pink.
Use Bits And Pieces
In this card you see a bunch of left overs in the background from previous cards and also from the See Through Cards video. I added them on a piece of double sided adhesive added on Craft Perfect – Ultra Smooth Card ( TNCUK | TNC )
On top a layer of Nuvo – Gilding Flakes – Silver Bullion ( SBC | TNCUK | TNC ) is added by rubbing them over the card and brushing of the excess.
I used part of the die to cut a corner on a border piece with a few hearts to place the sentiment on.
Use Part Of The Die
For this card I coloured a background with Nuvo – Aqua Flow Pens – Spring Meadow ( SBC | TNCUK | TNC ) to make just a simple basic watercolour background.
For the border the outside of the Cover Plate die was used to cut the scallop edge in two colours and they were layered with a strip in the middle to cover the gap.
I added some more of the leftover hearts from previous cards and added a printed sentiment.
And I finished with a few Studio Katia Jade Crystals ( STD ) the pretty iridescent green colour adds some dimension and sparkle to the soft mat colours used on the card. They come in 4 different sizes from 3 up to 6 millimeter in the package.
