Hi lovely crafty friends, today I have some Love inspired cards, we have Valentines day coming up, right. And if you are not a Valentine’s fan, anytime is a good time to send some love in my opinion. Just like the Beatles said: All You Need Is Love and Love Is All you Need:-)
(All supplies are linked to different stores at the end of this post in the thumbnails. The different stores are also linked behind the product name. Among them are affiliate links that may be used at no cost to you.)
In this video I have some fun and not so obvious love inspired cards for you and a few different stamping techniques from quick and easy to a bit more layered ones. But they are all very easy to do and I will show you in this video tutorial. So be sure to watch the video to see all techniques at work.
If you haven’t seen the Easy Mixed Media Cards With nuvo Shimmer powder video yet, I have some more heart inspired cards for you there, so make sure to take a peek.
All The Cards Together
For these cards I used some fun stamping techniques and they are all easy to do, also for beginner crafters.
I used a bunch of different Rubber Dance Stamps in different ways to show you don’t need to go for the obvious when making Valentine’s cards.
Layered Letters Card
For the first card I stamped different letters from the Alphabet Uno ( RBB ) stamp set, in different layers and heat embossed them with Ranger Wendi Vecchi Embossing powder in three colours Tea Rose ( SBC | RNG ), Violet ( RNG ) and Sky Blue ( SBC | RNG ).
I embossed the layers in three takes, first melting the powder before adding the next layer. I stamped the letters partly over each other to create a fun effect.
I stamped with Nuvo – Clear Mark Embossing Ink ( TNCUK | TNC ) to help the embossing powder stick.
For the letters I found matching colour Nuvo Alcohol markers, Lavender Sky from the Palma Violets set ( SBC | TNCUK | TNC ), Fruit Punch out of the Apricot Ombre set ( SBC | TNCUK | TNC ) and Tuscan Teal from the Aquamarine set ( SBC | CST | CST )
I added some splats and coloured the edge with the ink Make Art – Blendable Dye Ink Pad – Tea Rose ( SBC ) matching the Tea Rose embossing powder.
And I added Nuvo Jewel Drops Orange Marmalade ( CST | TNCUK | TNC ) to create dimension and interest on the card.
Simple Butterfly Love Card
For the next card I stamped the Grungy Butterflies ( RBB ) three times on my card using Distress Oxide Ink Wild Honey ( CST | SBC | CST | JGG ). I made some splats with Wild Honey and Abandoned Coral ( SBC | CST | CRF | JGG ).
I doodled a bit along the edge of the card using a Sakura Black Pen size 0.3 ( SBC | CST ). Doodling is fun and it add a bit of black to the design to make the colours pop a bit.
I stamped and coloured the letters from Alphabet Uno ( RBB ) just another way to use the letters. You can use letter dies for this too of course.
The sentiment is added to black card and attached with some staples to add another detail to the card.
Big Heart Love Card
On the last card I free hand stamped with Distress Oxide Ink Wild Honey ( CST | SBC | CST | JGG ) and Abandoned Coral ( SBC | CST | CRF | JGG ) ink in the background using the Old Book Page ( RBB ) stamp.
I stamped the big heart from the Arty Hearty ( RBB ) stamp with the black Tsukineko – VersaFine Clair Ink Nocturne ( SBC | CST ) using the Tim Holtz – Stamp Platform ( SBC | CST | TNCUK ) and I stamped again with clear embossing ink. Using clear embossing ink and black embossing powder will work too of course.
Then I added Nuvo – Embossing Powder – Crystal Clear ( SBC | CRF | CST | TNCUK | TNC ) and melted it to get a glossy finish.
I used Wild Honey and Abandoned coral to stamp more hearts and the sentiment. The heart was coloured using a Nuvo Water Brush ( SBC | TNCUK | TNC ).
The mini hearts and sentiment where fussy cut and matted on black card to make them stand out a bit more. The edge of the card was coloured with Abandoned Coral ink using a Tim Holtz – Mini Ink Blending Tool – Round ( SBC | CRF | CST | JGG ).
I hope you like today’s post and I have given you some inspiration to get crafty yourself. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting
