Do you want to make a different sort of card but not to fussy, then I have something for you, the simple see through card.

It’s only two steps to make this card and you can decorate it to your heart’s desire, keep it real simple or make some fun embellishments to add to the interest of the card.

(All supplies are linked to different stores at the end of this post in the thumbnails. The different stores are also linked behind the product name. Among them are affiliate links that may be used at no cost to you.)

In the video I will give you tips and tricks on how you can make fun see through cards like these. And I have different ways to decorate them and use the scraps. So be to watch the video to see how this is done as I walk you through the process in this tutorial.

I used the Studio Katia Scallop Hearts Cover die ( STD ) for both cards. You need a die that is exactly the same when you turn it over, so the mirror image will fit for a nice finish of the card.

The new Studio Katia Scallop Honeycomb Cover ( STD ) will work in the same way. You can check out the other cover dies at Studio Katia here

For the first card I coloured a piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock ( SBC )
with Distress Oxide Spray – Picked Raspberry ( SBC )

After drying I cut the card with the Scallop Hearts Cover die ( STD ).

I added some of the hearts that came out of the die and mixed them up from both cards, and added a few back in the open spaces.

I made an embellishment with the Tim Holtz – Christmas Circle Words ( SBC | SZZ ) that I coloured with Ranger Ink – Embossing Powder – Lime Tinsel ( SBC ) I added the word in white on top and then I added another layer with Ranger Ink – Clear Embossing Powder – Ultra Thick ( SBCto add to the dimension.

I added some Studio Katia Cupid’s Kiss Crystals ( STD ) for some extra sparkle with Glossy Accents ( SBC | JGG ) as a glue. Glossy accents works great as a glue and will hold the crystals in place to make the cards snail mail proof.

I used the Studio Katia Embellishment Wand ( STD ) to pick up the crystals, which is super easy with the wax tip, that holds the crystals and lets go when the crystal touches the glue. The other end of the wand can be used to press the crystals in the glue.

For the second card I used Craft Perfect – Ultra Smooth Card ( TNCUK | TNC ) that I coloured with Distress Oxide Spray – Twisted Citron ( SBC )

I like the sprays as it is a fast and easy way to add some colour to a piece of card and gives you some fun texture without much effort.

Here I used the hearts from the die and a printed sentiment, I just layered the complete and open hearts around the sentiment so you can keep it simple like this and use up your scraps too.

I added some Studio Katia Cupid’s Kiss Crystals ( STD ) here also, to add a bit of sparkle and it adds to the dimension on the card.

I hope you liked this post and give the see through cards a try. I will have some more cards ideas with the Scallop Hearts Cover die ( STD ) to share next week, I didn’t want to make the video too long.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
